Process of becomming a taxi driver
- Find a sponsor with the assistance of Aerial Consolidated Transport.
- Apply for a Police character check.
- Complete a Medical check at Health Services Australia.
- Complete a minimum of twenty one hours jockeying before attending the training school.
- Complete training course including;
- Pass Theory Test
- Pass Practical Test
- Wheelchair Test
- Complete a minimum of thirteen hours more jockeying.
- Acquire a "T" endorsement on driving license from Department of Urban Services.
- Complete a test radio booking.
- Complete 30 minutes dispatch centre training at the base.
- LPG Dispensing test (Verbal).
- Appear in uniform at Aerial Consolidated Transport base and agree to;
- Abide by rule regulations and by-laws
- Network affilitation and Cabcharge agreement
When all these stages are complete Aerial Consolidated Transport will issue you with a network identification number and PIN allowing you to work on the Aerial Consolidated Transport network.
This whole process generally takes around 8-10 weeks to complete.
